New York, NY (June 16, 2023) — Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today released the following statement on the eve of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to the People’s Republic of China.
“We commend Secretary Blinken for traveling to Beijing and hope his trip provides an opportunity for candid discussions on our shared interests in stabilizing the U.S.-China economic relationship, rebuilding government-to-government dialogue, increasing people-to-people exchange, and maintaining world peace. While no single agreement can fix our long-standing challenges, we urge leaders from both nations to approach these meetings with an open mind and willingness to negotiate.”
