New York, NY (February 8, 2023) – Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, issued a formal letter today to the WHIAANHPI on the recently unveiled national strategy to advance equity, justice and opportunity for the AAPI communities across the U.S.
The letter, addressed to WHIAANHPI co-chairs Secretary Xavier Becerra and Ambassador Katherine Tai, thanks the Commission for taking significant steps to increase the attention needed for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
From the letter:
We especially appreciate the recent national strategy’s focus on combatting anti-Asian hate and discrimination, disaggregating data on AA and NHPI communities, and expanding career development and advancement opportunities in the federal government. These priorities reflect Committee of 100’s key initiatives, and we are grateful to see our government working toward the same goals.
The full letter, which highlights some of the key programs and initiatives that Committee of 100 is undertaking to map to the WHIAANHPI national strategy can be downloaded here.
