Master Classes: Asian American Career Lessons on Developing a Personal Brand

Peter Young

About the Webinar

The 41st Committee of 100 Asian American Career Ceilings Initiative event is the second event under the title of “Master Classes: Asian American Career Lessons” where we feature experts who will conduct tutorials on various topics related to how individuals can overcome Asian American career ceiling obstacles.

Our second Master Class was on the topic of “Master Classes: Developing a Personal Brand” and featured Jerry Won, who is the Founder & CEO of Just Like Media, an innovative storytelling company. They are behind the award winning Dear Asian Americans Podcast, whose guests include Vice President Kamala Harris, the Asian Creator Awards, and more. He is also the Founder & CEO of World Class Speakers, a speaker coaching and training company that educates and empowers speakers to elevate their influence, impact, and income.

There are many skills that Asian Americans can use or develop in order to succeed and overcome the Career Ceilings problems in this country. Although much has been said about finding mentors, incorporating a more aggressive approach in the workplace, identifying and overcoming biases and stereotypes, less is said about the importance of purposely developing a personal brand. Our speaker, Jerry Won shared his observations, thoughts and recommendations that, we hope, will allow you to add some additional tools to your arsenal to aid your success in your careers and, perhaps, also in your daily lives. The event was conducted as a fireside chat.

Peter Young, Chair of the Initiative and a Committee of 100 Member, will be the moderator. After the conclusion of the fireside chat, there will be a Q&A session.
