In-Person Event

Immigrant Rights Fair

About the Event

Join Committee of 100, Documented, and Glow Cultural Center for the Immigrant Rights Fair, a community event dedicated to providing essential resources, legal advice, and support to immigrants.

The Immigrant Rights Fair is an inclusive and informative event, featuring workshops, informational booths, and access to legal resources. The event serves as a platform to celebrate and support the immigrant community, raise awareness about immigrant rights and offer a space where immigrants can gain valuable insights and assistance. In addition, participants will receive free gifts, resource guidebooks, and refreshments (limited-time).

The event is free and welcomes Chinese and AAPI immigrant families and individuals in the Flushing neighborhood. Key activities at the fair will include two workshops and several resource booths. The first workshop, “Report for Support—AAPI Hate Tracker Introduction,” will be presented by Committee of 100. We will introduce the recently announced AAPI Hate Tracker database (www.aapihatetracker.org), which allows the public in the New York City area to report incidents of hate and violence. We will also discuss the importance of reporting these incidents.

The second workshop, “Immigrant Rights Tea & Talk: Myths about the ‘Public Charge’ Policy and How the Presidential Election Would Affect It,” will be presented by Documented and address whether applying for government benefits impacts immigration status. The workshop will take place in a lively environment where guests can enjoy complimentary tea and snacks and discuss their concerns as immigrants.

This event and the workshops will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese. Except for the legal clinic, this event doesn’t require registration.

*Gifts and immigrant resource booklets available with limited quantity.
