Handel Lee serves as the Washington, DC Regional Chair for the Committee of 100, and is a partner in a global law firm with over 3,000 lawyers and sits on its International Management Committee. Specializing in energy and infrastructure projects, Mr. Lee has garnered recognition as a leading international practitioner in the areas of Energy, Renewable Power, and Project Finance over the past 25 years.
His contributions extend beyond law into the arts and culture. Notable projects include founding KWM Art Center in Beijing (2016), serving as a Senior Advisor for the Hangzhou Urban Constellation (Museum cluster) Project (2009-2013), being co-founder partner of the Beijing Center for the Arts (2008) and the Shanghai Gallery of Art (2004), and founder, developer, and partner in the Legation Quarter/Qianmen23 in Beijing (2008) and Three on the Bund in Shanghai (2004).
For his significant achievements in law and the arts, Handel received several prestigious awards including: Georgetown Law’s Paul R. Dean Award (2008), the Order of the Star of Italy (Commendatore) (2007), Esquire China’s Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award (2006). He served as the Vice Chair of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, and is the Founder and Chair of the Friends of the National Asian Pacific American Museum, aiming to attain authorization and creation of the museum on the National Mall.
Order of the Star of Italy (Commander)/Commendatore dell’Ordine della Stella della solidarietà Italiana in 2007, and the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award, Mont Blanc Foundation in 2006.
