New York, NY (February 17, 2022) — Committee of 100, a nonprofit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today issued the following statement in response to political commentator Ann Coulter’s recent comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

“The racist slurs, tropes and hate that political commentator Ann Coulter directed against Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley are deplorable, disgusting, and inexcusable. This type of language only contributes to the vicious cycle of hatred, bigotry and violence directed at minority communities across the U.S.,” said Zhengyu Huang, President of Committee of 100. “Born in America, the U.S. is Nikki Haley’s country and Nikki Haley is as American as Ann Coulter. As a society, we cannot sit idly by and allow racially charged language to go unchecked. Words have meaning, and racially charged words have consequences. We strongly condemn the language used by Ann Coulter and stand united with our brothers and sisters in the Indian American community.”
