New York, NY (February 10, 2023) — As millions across the world celebrated Lunar New Year, Columbia University, one of the world’s leading research institutions, and Committee of 100, a non-profit membership organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today announced the completion of the data collection phase for its joint survey, “The State of Chinese Americans.”

The survey data will shed light on demographic, economic, health, and sociopolitical situations pertaining to the Chinese American population and inform policymakers and the public at large of the experiences and needs of the Chinese American community.

All adults self-identifying as a person of Chinese-ethnic origin and living in the United States, regardless of birthplace or citizenship, were invited to participate in this survey, which was conducted online in English, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese.

More than 6,000 qualified responses were received from across 46 states. These responses will be used to generate the final report, which will be presented at a virtual event co-hosted by Columbia University and Committee of 100 in the summer of 2023.
