New York, NY (January 22, 2023) — Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today released the following statement on the mass shooting that took place in Monterey Park, California on the eve of the Lunar New Year Celebration:
“Committee of 100 is horrified and saddened by the mass shooting that took place on the eve of Lunar New Year in Monterey Park, California,” said Zhengyu Huang, President of Committee of 100. “We urge law enforcement to apprehend the culprit and determine the nature and motivation of this heinous act. Our hearts are heavy with grief as we pray for the Monterey Park community in their time of great distress.”
