New York, NY (November 22, 2022) — Committee of 100, a non-profit organization of prominent Chinese Americans, today released the following statement on the mass shooting and hate crime in Colorado Springs, Colorado over the weekend.
“Committee of 100 is horrified by the mass shooting that took place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a shooting that appears to be motivated by anger and hate towards the LGBTQ+ community. As an organization that strives for the full inclusion of Chinese Americans in American society, we understand pain, discrimination, prejudice and violence. Our hearts, heavy with grief, are with the friends and families of the victims. These acts of hate have no place in America, whether directed against the LGBTQ+ community or any other American. We stand with all of our partners as we collectively fight against racism, bigotry, violence, and ignorance. Hate has no place in our society.”
