Media Alert: National Survey Results on Chinese American Life Coming 9/25

28th August 2024

WHO: Committee of 100, a non-profit membership organization of prominent Chinese Americans, and NORC at the University of Chicago, one of the largest independent social research organizations in the United States.

WHAT: The two organizations will unveil the ‘State of Chinese Americans’ national survey results, a survey specifically focused on the current politics and policy needs of the Chinese American population.

WHERE: virtual webinar, RSVP required

WHEN: September 25, 2024 at 4:00pm Eastern (1 hour)

WHY: Chinese Americans constitute about 5.5 million people and are the largest share of the Asian American population. Despite this fast-growing electorate, Chinese Americans have faced a surge in racism in everyday life, been historically underrepresented in politics and policy, and the specific policy preferences and political behaviors of those same Chinese Americans are unknown. So what are the political and policy preferences of Chinese Americans? What are Chinese Americans’ feelings toward the current relationship between the U.S. and China? And to what extent do Chinese Americans still experience racial discrimination?
