Leading Chinese American Organization Committee of 100 to Discuss Critical Issues of U.S.-China Relations
(Pasadena, CA–April 19, 2012)–The Committee of 100 (C-100), an organization of leading Chinese Americans opened its 21st Annual Conference on April 19, 2012 in Pasadena, California.
At the Gala Dinner, the opening event on Apirl19, C-100 honored the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California for “U.S.-China Advancement”. Charles Munger, Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway was the recipient of the Philanthropy Award.
Under “Common Ground,” the one-day Conference on April 20 will include four high-level roundtables: Roundtable I: The Impact of Political Leadership Transition on U.S.-China Relations; Roundtable II: Philanthropy: The Transformative Role of Asian American Social Investors; Roundtable III: U.S. – China Bilateral Investment: Managing Challenges, Optimizing Choices; and Roundtable IV: Entertainment: New Frontiers in the Global Film Industry.
Results of a new survey entitled “U.S.-China Public Perceptions Opinion Survey 2012,” conducted by Harris Interactive in the United States and Horizon Research Consultancy Group in China, will be discussed at the conference. The study measures significant shifts in U.S. and Chinese attitudes since 2007 on high-impact economic, political, and security issues, including bilateral trade and investment, U.S. military presence in the Asia Pacific, and China’s emergence as a military and economic global power.
Speakers include John Bryson, United States Secretary of Commerce; Michael Milken, Chairman, the Milken Institute; Charles Munger, Vice Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway; Jim Sinegal, Co-Founder and Director, Costco Wholesale Corporation; Patrick Soon-Shiong, Chairman, Chan Soon-Shiong Family Foundation; and Thomas Tull, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Legendary Pictures.
