Committee of 100 Announces Updates to the Board

New York, NY (August 17, 2023) – After recent internal annual elections, Committee of 100 is pleased to announce the following updates to its board and leadership team. Committee of 100 is a non-profit U.S. leadership organization of prominent Chinese Americans in business, government, academia, healthcare, and the arts focused on public policy engagement, civic engagement, arts & culture and philanthropy.

Oscar Tang, Co- Chairman of the New York Philharmonic and an original co-founder of Committee of 100, will now serve as Treasurer. Committee of 100 thanks Philip Ma for his service in this role over the past year.

The rest of the executive team includes Gary Locke, who continues to serve as Chair, Debra Wong Yang, who continues to serve as Vice-Chair and David C. Chang who continues to serve as Secretary.

Joining the Committee of 100 Board are Cyndie Chang, Managing Partner at Duane Morris LLP, Los Angeles; Leroy Chiao, Co-founder and CEO of OneOrbit, LLC; Maeley Tom, Former Chief Administrative Officer for the California State Assembly; Jay Xu, Director & CEO of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco; and Peter Young, CEO and Managing Director at Young & Partners.

Committee of 100 would like to thank outgoing Directors and Board Members Gareth Chang, Richard Y. Lee, Philip Ma, Mei-Mei Tuan, and Nancy Yuan for their service, dedication and commitment to the Board for the past several years and serving out their terms.  All remain active members of Committee of 100.

Peter Young will serve as the New York Regional Chair. Continuing in their roles as Regional Chairs will be Buck Gee for Northern California, Handel Lee for Washington, D.C, Charlie Woo for Southern California and Eric Zheng for the Greater China.

Committee of 100 would like to thank outgoing New York Regional Chair X. Rick Niu for his service in this role. He remains an active member of Committee of 100.

All Committee of 100 Directors and Officers are Members of the organization. Committee of 100 holds elections for the Chair role every three years and elections for Board Roles and Regional Chairs every fiscal year on a rotating and term basis.
