On November 14, 2015, Committee of 100 member Carter Tseng spoke at Tsinghua University on the history of C-100 as well as its mission and members. The speech gave context to C-100’s many contributions to U.S.-China relations and the political inclusion of Chinese Americans over the last 25 years.
As a proponent of next generation leadership, Mr. Tseng encouraged students to not only focus on material gains, but to make contributions to their community through social service. For the past decade, Carter has led the C-100 Leadership Scholarship Program, which encourages next generation leadership and civic engagement. The audience included students, faculty members, and LSP participants from the Tsinghua University community as well as other organizations. After his speech, Carter personally met with C-100 Leadership Scholarship Program scholars who participated in the event.
